Is Armen a real person?
No — Armen is an AI tutor. His Armenian is written by an AI model tuned to sound like someone from Yerevan, which is what lets you practise any time, as often as you like, without feeling judged.
Can I use it as a complete beginner?
Yes. Armen keeps to the words and level you know, translates every line into your language, and the “What can I say?” button gives you replies to choose from. Most people start with the café or meeting-someone scenes.
Which Armenian does Armen speak?
Eastern Armenian — the Armenian of Armenia. A Western Armenian course is not available yet.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The call runs in your browser on a computer or a phone. Allow the microphone when you're asked, or type your replies instead.
What does Armen remember about me?
A handful of things you've told him, and the last topic you talked about, so the next call can pick up where you left off. You can see the list and delete it from the conversation screen.
How is this different from the lessons?
Lessons teach you words and grammar step by step. The calls are where you use them: unscripted, out loud, with someone who answers back.
